The best time to visit Los Roques
Good news: Los Roques has beach weather all year, with warm temperatures, a steady breeze and turquoise water. The difference between months is more about crowds, prices and wind than sunshine.
High season: when it is busiest
Carnival, Easter, July-August (school holidays) and December-January.
On Venezuelan public holidays and long weekends, rates carry a surcharge of about 15%.
Book several weeks ahead: flights and posadas fill up.
Quiet season: better prices
May, June, October and November are usually calm months, with almost empty cays and better rates. For example, our May and October plans start at around €120-127 per person per night with full board.
Wind and water sports
From December to April the breeze is stronger: ideal for kitesurfing and windsurfing. If you want calm water for snorkeling and kids, June, July and the autumn months are a great choice. Read why June and July are ideal.
Weekdays vs. weekends
Most visitors travel Thursday to Sunday. If you can, arrive Sunday to Thursday: there is more space on the cays and rates are lower.
